I am enormously grateful to all of the quilters and people that I have come into contact in the course of my tour. My life is filled with beauty and grace thanks to the many beautiful, talented and generous hearts that I encounter.
I very much enjoyed my stay in the River Country area of Virginia, although I have to admit that the bugs were pretty thick and friendly. Gloucester is where I launched full-force into my new private in-home workshops. I did two while I was there, both on mid-arm Viking Mega Quilter machines on frames. It was wonderful to see the ladies get finally comfortable with their machines!! I am really so very blessed to have the opportunity to offer this unique service.
If you have a sewing space in your home, it does not have to be a spotless and professional studio, ladies! I am not afraid of your basement sewing room or the tiny spare room crammed with stuff. I am a quilter, after all! As long as you have room for us to stand, a place for us to draw and a sewing machine set up, I can help you!
This week Michael and I very much enjoyed a couple of what must be the best restaurants in Asheboro, NC. It was our real pleasure to enjoy stellar company and off the charts great food while here in town to speak to the Randolph Quilter's Guild who are a very kind group to speak for! Today I will spend the day with a member of their guild in a Private Workshop. I am so excited to see more and more people committing to getting their tops finally quilted! Quilt tops don't last into the ages, QUILTS DO!
My new book series, Free-Hand for Fraidey Cats!, is off to the printer and was set to being shipping on June 10, however the books will be there before I am there to ship them out so the new shipping date is June 14. I am thrilled to bring my 17 years of professional experience into print to supplement my in-person classes. As a special thank you for ordering your copy early, I would like to give you the coupon code FRAIDEY-CAT for 10% off of your purchase of any or all of the new titles AND every book will be signed to the purchaser (unless requested otherwise). This discount will expire on June 10, so be sure to take advantage of the savings now! I appreciate so much your support of my work! I am on a mission to see all these closets full of tops get quilted!
One last thing: I have updated my calendar, so be sure to see if I will be close to you. Remember that 150 miles is only $80.25 mileage charge. When I have come from NW WA to the NE, anything within 300 miles of where I am is "close" to me so please don't hesitate to give me a call to ask if you are too far out of my way to come quilt with. Chances are you are not. I am on an adventure and will go to where I am needed, so if you are ready to be inspired and have your skills boosted, give me a call to discuss when we will quilt together in your studio! (360) 488-3036. I can do Private Workshops in the Baltimore, MD area on June 9 and 10. One or two people, your sewing room or mine!
Thanks for reading and your continued support of the Quilting Across America Tour! I hope I have the opportunity to quilt with you! ~ Nichole
